Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.
Applications are now open and will close on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the following criteria:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a home with a combined gross family earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for each annum.
• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined residence earnings isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and want not post any evidence of income.

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.
Applicants are reminded to deliver the proper Id Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected within their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are learning or plan to research in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
